the top ones i know make the water not drip down your door / windows so maybe that one is one u wanna keep ......if you do shave that then everytime you open your door your gonna have a waterfall comming down because there is no gutter to stop the water.

are you sure you want to shave them? just paint them. if an idiot bangs your door then there is no moulding to protect it. just my opinion.

I got mine painted to match the car and 2 days later a huge frickin ding in the molding. Better that than a huge ding in my door.

If your car is low like mine then your side moldings do jack ****. I plan to shave mine once I'm ready to do my body work.

Just yank them off and do use fiberglass and bondo. Layer. I talk to a body shop about it and that's how they said they'd do it. The guy said if he welded metal over top it would cause the whole door to wrap from the heat and then he'd have to bondo the whole thing up to get it to look right. Bondo by itself will crack in time but fiberglass and bondo will hold up. I know of a guy who's had his moldings shaved and unpainted for over a year, even through winter and they haven't crack in the slightest.

i still have the moldings but the door dings seems to be multiplying, anyways it will look nicer if it was shaved but then again it's up to u to take the risk of not having those moldings
