Rustproofing

Hey all,

I am seriously looking to get my car ('98 Civic hatch) rust-proofed this spring... sometime in April. I live in Etobicoke... near the airport. Who do you guys recommend for a good thorough rust-proofing job? (under the car, inside the doors, etc.)

Paul

Krown is good or u could always go with the original Rust Check...
Corrosion free is good, it's very thick and barely drips downside however is that the "creeping" capability is not quite as good.
I had my quarter panel rust cut out with patches welded in last August got it rustchecked the very day I got it back, sad to say the rust had already come back shoulda had him cut the whole panel out, but oh well
my vote goes to Krown and Rust Check
PS keeping your car clean is a pain in the *** after this

Wouldn't a better time to get the proofing be in early fall?

Check out the group buys section.

TCC has a deal with the Krown. I am sure Igor will take great care of you.

Most people think getting rust proofing done before winter is better. I was told this is wrong because rust doesn't actually develop in the winter. Rusts begins to develop as the temprature gets warmer and more moisture occurs in the metal. So around this time or just before spring would be the best time to get it done.

This is interesting, but I'm not actually sure if this is the case. Rust is a long term process, it doesn't "just" develop. Also, it's not changes in temperature, it's the exposure of bare metal, which occurs as a result of the fawking salt that gets caked onto the roads.

Again, I'm not 100% certain, but that's how I presently see it.
