Rustproofing
Hey Peeps,
I'm looking for an economical way to rust proof a 98 si, I dont wanna spend 110$ on a super used car at Krown, I know they do good jobs. I love my car too much to send it to Wally Mart to get abused and stuff. I heard that KROWN BRAMPTON from reading another forum that they do cash deals for $60.00 without paper work, no warranty - which is cool.
Anyone can confirm this or give other ideas?
haha ps: I've tried to spray WD40 under the car last yr with 4 cans, works like gold.
thanks
john

WD-40? hahaha
rust check - .. i think its the same price as krown
ziebart - ... but i wouldn't recommend it
98 isn't really that old, but if you don't want to spend $110 to give your car a longer life span then don't drive it in the winter...

ahahaha wd40.
cheap way is you can get some underbody spray thats like ruberized. my bud did that last year, worked perfect
just go to coin op that does underbody wash, give a rinse, once it dries spray the whole underbody.

WD40 Is oil based liquid. Only problem is, it dries up, and it actually dries up the surface. That's why you shouldn't spray WD40 on bushings. They will dry up and harden. So yes WD40 is good for rust prevention but only while its moist. Once it dries, its worse for the body.
OP don't be a cheap Jew and get it done right.

Ya theres a place called houghton's rust proofing, on victoria. They seem to get alot of repeat business and I havn't heard any bad things about them so I'd say there good, comparable with krown quality if not better. Personally I have never coated my cars whenever theres a break in the weather for no snow for a couple days I go for a car wash take all the salt off and keep on going, Keep in mind I have almost 400 000km on my 2002 civic with a VERY VERY clean body even the underbody is still clean lol.
