Rollin fenders...

Rollin fenders...
So I got a new set of tires and since my car is quite low adn these tires are slightly larger then the previous set, I'm getting a lot of rubbing while turning, especially with 2 ppl in the car. It's a 2000 SiR, stock tire size is 195/55R15, and my new tires are 195/60R15 (...the price was right...lol)
It's not safe for them to be rubbing like this, so I want to fix it asap. Been doing a lot of research on cheap ways to roll the fenders and was just wondering if anyone here has done so before and has any tips or advise on the matter.
It's pretty straight forward how to do it: Use a heat gun to heat the fender so the paint doesn't crack, use pvc pipe or the likes and pry the inner lip up and out, going slowly and a little bit at a time until it's all tucked up neatly.
One question I had is I noticed my plastic inner fender liner is hanging just below the inner fender lip...is it supposed to be tucked up above the fender lip? (I'm assuming it is). The tires mostly rub on the fender liner where it hangs just below the lip at the very top, so tucking that back up above should help quite a bit.
Any help/suggestions would be great. Thanks.
(automotive cosmetics is not my forte...lol. I can do a set of brakes blind-folded, yet my rear bumper has been semi-falling off for a year and I haven't looked up how to fix it yet...LOL)

if your inner fender liner is too far down after you roll them, yo can just exacto them off a bit so its easier to tuck them under the fender. also just be careful and go slow, i normally say do this before you get a new paintjob but i doubt your getting a new one soon so just be really careful not to crack the paint!

Will definitely be taking some pics.
There are lots of DIY's on the net for doing this already, just do a quick google search. That's how I found out how to do it.

I don't reall care if the paint cracks a bit as I've already got a bit of rust started on the edges of the front fenders... The car is far from 'mint' cosmetically...You can kinda see the spot on the fender in my sig...
It's sad, she's already got car cancer...I will re-paint it though....one day....eventually....lol

I remember when I rolled out with 205/55r16 (don't ask) at 2" drop lol. Jacked up the car and dropped it on a pry bar...don't do that. I was desperate. Car at a shop, and old tires were cut off (long story). A baseball bat would work better if you just roll the car on the bat.

DTP does not have a baseball bat. Lol though mike, I remember at a vw meet a guy was renting out a fender roller. Appearantly its less likely that you will chip the paint and supposedly safer/more even. Look into that.

Something like this would be safer than hammering the lip back or using a bat.

my friend rents out his fender roller. pm me if u want a price.
as for the liners, you can tuck them under if you want.. but the roll might not be too smooth cause it'll have to accomodate for the liners, it'll also make it realyl hard to pull the liners out if you ever need to!
I rolled my fenders with the eastwood roller, then replaced my messed up liners, so they sit outside, and hang lower slightly, but they dont touch.
man.... my setup must've lowered me by over 2" then. im on stock sized 195 55 15 and was rubbing like crazy. had to put the car up on spring spacers 0.5" and roll the fenders to stop it from rubbing.

I've got 195/60R15 tires on her now and she's lowered at least 2-2.5" so she rubs pretty good.
You gotta understand my methods. If I don't have pay for something to achieve the same results, I won't. lol
So I used a heat gun and a pipe and my friend rolled the car back and forth while I made sure the pipe stayed in place. After a few rolls I stepped up to a larger pipe and so on...
The paint did crack a bit , but that was partly due to the bit of rust already on the edge of the fender...
Also had to cut out some sections of the inner plastic fender at the front where it sticks out a bit and was rubbing on the tires...
All in all, much less rubbing, even with 2 ppl in the car...so it worked pretty good. The only places it's still rubbing is on the plastic inner liner where it will eventually just wear away.
I'll post up a pic when I get a chance.
