Rock Chip Problem...
hey guys, as most of you know i had my car painted last summer, however rock chips have decided to attact the front of my car in a plague . as usual on an eg, the front of the hood and the bumper get the worst of it.i do a fair amount of HWY driving, i don't follow closely cause i know that's a factor with rock chips, but you get the fools that change lanes close infront of you.My car is lowered 1.8 in the front, and i currently have 13's on...use 16's during the season,i don't get as many chips with the 16's ofcourse, cause the car sits abit higher.Anyways, the point right? i'm getting my hood and front bumper repainted in May or somewhere about, i wanna know what i should do to combat or prevent rock chips again, since i use the hwy like everyday.I know there's solutions like an ugly bra, and i heard about some 3M stuff...i don't know what the 3M stuff is...heard it's some clear kind of protective paint of something? can someone tell me more about this, and give me details on places that do it, pricing etc.how good is it as preventing rock chips? anyone here ever had it done? thanks for the interest and advice in advance.

yeah non-oem paint is very prone to chipping
I recommend you have TR repaint it and ask him to paint it super thin!! cuz the thicker the paint is the easier it chips.
3M is a clear vinyl that you stick on your paint and it absorbs the impact of the rocks. and yes for HWY drive I do recommend it!

there's other companies as well, I was quoted $198 from tint master to do my hood and fenders, their's is made by the same company that makes their tint (can't remember the name). It's nearly invisible, all u really see is a line... I don't think it can be removed without paint damage or peeling, once it's on there it's supposed to remain on there.
