It would be best if you could watch someone do it, then try your own.

I've prepped two cars and had them painted at a shop... they both turned out really well, but the paint didn't end up lasting...

happened to my buddies eg... its starting to bubble where hes done body work. it seems he used a softer body filler is there anyway to prevent the paint to turn to **** after a while?

bondo or fibreglass will pretty much always go to **** after a while because it's not doing anything to prevent the rust underneath from spreading and coming through again. The least you can do is use a good sealer over the bondo to help prevent this.

The key to having your body work last is to have shiny silver metal everywhere. If its rusted through cut it out! If you want to bondo make sure its clean underneath then it won't rust anymore. Remember check out under your car for rust as well. If you can see the joints on the metal make sure there sound. If there is to much indercoating to see then your probably safe.
