Anyone ever paint their own car?
I have the urge to do a project paint job. I have one of those wagner power painter spray paint guys, and it does a nice job and leaves a nice finish. Im just wondering how it would look if i tried painting parts of my car like the hood etc.
I would use automotive paint and do a clear coat etc.

BAD IDEA...
Wagner good for fences and walls...
You need a clean room and tonnes of prep to paint a car right..
Then you gotta bake it on good like...
I need my fence and walls painted soon..
You wanna rent it to me..
You could try...
But you would be venturing into uncharted territory...

Awh, you can always try rolling on the paint. I've seen this done before. I think it was yesterday I saw a beige Volvo in Miss. and I laughed my *** off when I saw it. I could see the runs on the black side skirts and had to laugh.
I painted my Jet Ski a few years ago and I used that Wagner painter and it actually turned out not to bad. I painted the base coat and I ended up sponge painting over top. So it was really hard to see any imperfections.
You can only try and say that you at least tried.

Theres a place if you look it up on the phone book, that allows you to rent bays to do work. You can do all the prep work yourself, and let the pros paint it, or you can do it yourself in their shop.

Me and my father used to own a body shop, and it takes tons of prep work, good equipment and good supplies to paint a car and get a nice finish. Oh yah i forgot it also takes a lot of practice (just like everything else in the world)

i rented a bay and did all the prep work myself..it all depends how long you spend on your car sanding down to perfection and then you got to mask the car good ..i did mine pretty good cause i spent a good amount of time sanding down the body good ..then i let the pro's paint it and thats all...i had all this done for about $400 and all this when i did it included 3 day rent space..electric sander, air tool, sand paper , everything i needed to prep the car...but you gotta be carefull if your inexpericenced..the paint might run if done unproperly
