People with body work done.

I got new metal welded in the fenders in the back, and they did a good job (CarStar on Lakeshore).

Anyways the guy said the new metal could last 8 months to 2 years depending on how well you maintain it.

Im wondering those who had body work done, how long the new metal has lasted you?

thanks.

matt;

that guy is not lying to you....i had my body work done in the summer....and it is already starting....i'll show you. whatever they use, it's not protected or treated in any way. the first thing the guy was, was getting in undercoated. it was the summer time, so i didn't think it'd be a problem. it's not bad yet....but if i leave it unprotected it will only get worse. take my advice, get it sprayed, especially if you plan on driving it this winter.

No offence, but you shouldn't have taken it to MAACO in the first place.

Getting mine done two, i just painted my car and the guy grinded the quarters down and cheesed it and it came back 2 months later, it's all bubbly on both quarters but just on those 2 parts on the entire car. Can't wait until i get metal on and im getting it done for a couple hundred bucks b/c i used to work at a body shop so there getting me a good deal on it. My shop did the same work to a 4th gen civic 5 years ago and until this day it hasn't rusted one bit. Depends on who does your work.
