it is very much possible unless it's a colour change that requires the door jambs and stuff to be painted. i'd say stick with the original paint colour (i.e. the colour in the door jambs) and you will be sure to save a lot of money

i wonder what jay has to say about his new nick.... team_fukus hahahaha..........

for a full paintjob... and your keyword "quality"... i think $2500 is reasonable.... coz you will do a full colorchange... included enginebay, all the metal you can see... if it includes removing the carpet and stuff... that's a full colorchange, then well worth the 2500....

maybe he can give you a better price if you wanna keep the engine bay original color... and you just want to change the color of all the exterior areas that is visible...

dont like to discuss prices that i quoted anyone on pm but a quick breakdown as to why it costs what it costs.....

car is black, car needs bodywork, car has to be painted yellow.

going to yellow from black is a big step and it involves alot of paint. any painter can tell you this aswell.

doing a colour change and not painting door jams on the body, and door jams on the door, trunk jam, under hood and fender sides would be really stupid. and it could be considered a colour change. however to do these things it involves alot of labour everything from removing panels, to masking them off and sanding them. then to top it off it involves the car to be in the paint booth 2 times rather then once just for paint.
first the car has to get its jams and under panels painted. then it has to dry, come out of the booth have all the panels put back on then the doors and trunk and hood shut, taped off with foam tape in the seams then put back into the booth and painted again.
sure 2500 seems alot when your dishing it out for a paintjob. but try being on the other side of the deal you will see that the profit margin barely cuts the cake. good bodyshop's will charge you 4000.00 and up just for paint and minor bodywork....shops that charge you less either are ****, need the business bad, or are trying to get their name heard for the time being because they are new (which is what I am doing). Eventually my prices will be the same as the standard market.

i agree with team rukus and i disagree , black to yellow is a little bit tougher than from a lighter colour to yellow ( ex white to yellow) thats what i agree on. When people charge less than 2500 u shouldnt automatically assume they do crap work thats biased because u own a shop. We at my PRIVATE shop do full paint jobs for 1500$ and all the people coming in and out are happy so thats why i wanted to share my opinion...

Jay does good work and does them for an extremely good price, he must have his reasons for giving you a specific price quote.
