Lug nut torque?

what do I tighten my lugs to?. on alloy rims?

it would depend on the type of nut your using and the depth of the rim hole.

the size of the nut matters unison to the depth of the rim

OEM steel lug nuts can take a bit more abuse. Aluminum ones, even hand tight (with a little more force at the final turn) will do the work.

The idea is when you loosen it, you should be able to turn it with adquate force, or else it is too tight.

hand tight???? I would always do atleast 80ft lbs

yeah. I was thinking 75ft lbs. but anyways.

I'm using acorn nuts and Im not really sure of the depth of the hole, its not to deep

Hand tight as in, use your max force but not overkill, like your whole body weight.

yeah common prob especially for the bigger stronger type of guys......hand tight sometimes is 120lb ....lol might warp your rotors ....lol get a torque wrench to be safe dont depend on your biceps...lol

120lbs sound a little too much if you do it by hand...i may be wrong as i have no idea....i have always done it manually without a torque wrench. i guess its a good to have one.
