Lip Kits vs. Body Kits???

Hello, I Got a question for all you Modifiers.

I have a 95 Civic H/B looking to do some body modifying.

Wondering what is the big difference between a LIP KIT & BODY KIT and what are the Pros & Cons between the 2?

What would you suggest I get for my hatchy???
Im planning on making this look fairly clean.

Painting car White Diamond, with maybe a carbon fibre hood, rims, Chrome altezzas, coilovers, side markers and a 3 piece mid wing, muffler, and VW antenna on back roof?

So with those mods planned, WHICH way should I go Lip Kit or Body Kit.

Ive had a body kit before, and had to sell car, because of winter, and a bigger hassel goign in and out for driveways.

Thanxs Kirk

well with your goals id say body kit it, but it sounds to me like you dont like kits (neither do i)...... a lip kit will probably be a lot cheaper, and will give the car the "clean" look you want......... my 2cents

lips are defenately cleaner, but it depends on what you like, if you want the aggressive bulky look, go with a kit, but u say clean look, then lips would be nice

kits never fit period you always have to put more work into making them right. Lips your just limited to styles but they fit. Kit's break unless you buy urethayne. I won't do another kit. my next car will have a lip.

Urethane kits do fit nice (Xenon and Wings West at least do).....they usualy take the original bumper pieces, and then make mold of that. That why they fit nice the first time.

Now if you where talking about fiberglass body kits, THEN I would agree with you 100%.

Agree with pulovr. WIngs west has great fitment.

Most fiberglass kits are cheap. Quality is worse and fitment is pretty bad. THis is because original body kits are huge dollars. Real buddy club kit is several thousands. It comes with certificates of authenticity and Has metal plates moulded into the back of the parts with serial numbers. It's big dollars.

The fiberglass stuff fits poorly because they are making copies from second or third copies in fiberglass. That is why they fit poorly. I heard in fiberglass the best place to buy is tom's that is because they make copies from the really expensive original pieces.

get a nice tasteful kit and you can have the clean look but also not look like every other car with a mugen or Type R lip on there car.

I'm leaning to the entire Type-R kit (real one), it's fiberglass, but it's strait from Japan, and other ep3 owners that have gotten it, had not fitment problems.. front/rear bumper is changed (not a huge difference) and lips are added to the kit... if I were you I'd go with a lip kit

Not many good clean kit for 5th gen IMO (where for 6th and 7th gen, there is Buddy Club kit, for instance). Go with lip style.

my favorite kit is buddyclub2...... and the c-west..... most others are too played out or just too "out there"

even though it's snowing & freezing out there, i still have a full body-kit on and have not a single crack ... if you drive carefully, watch the bumps (snow), turn slanted in etc. then fiberglass is great ... i seen people with lips on and they rip the front off so easily because of careless driving ... what i'm saying is either kit or lips, just take good care of your **** and nothing will happen ...

for those of you wanting something different than the buddyclub or wings-west crap, by your kit on ebay, so many styles to choose from ... that is where i got mine and no other car on the road looks like mine
