How long should one coat of wax last for?

I use Meguiars Gold Wax and I waxed my car at the end of April. When I washed my car on Saturday, I noticed that the water doesn't "bead" on the car anymore. It does, however, just roll off in sheets. The car is still pretty shiny though and the paint still feels pretty smooth to the touch.

Shouldn't the coat of wax last longer than 6 weeks? I know that a bunch of you use Meguiars so how long does it last on your cars?

They say no wax before 1 month....but I prefer to go longer just to be sure!! For those of you who use wax every 8-12 weeks, I have 1 word for you...zaino....this stuff is beyond description...super fantastic...easy on and off. By far the best polish I have ever used...and I have waxed many cars in my time.

can't let everyone now how easy zaino is to use
I was trying to answer his question
gatherer you can use zaino as often as you want .....the thing is the initial application takes a bit with the clay and eerything ...but once you have it on you can add coat after coat after coat

I use Klasse all in one.

<Made in Germany>
Klasse All-In-One is a non-abrasive cleaner-polish-protector invented by a German chemist. Apply Klasse on paints, plexiglass, fiberglass, glass, plastics, enamel, metal surfaces. With an easy ONE STEP application, it removes oxidized paint, old wax build-up, road tar, surface scratches, swirl marks, gasoline and insect stains. It polishes to "Wet-Look" shine and locks into the paint, seals and protects with an elastic non-chip, shrink-proof, heat and scratch resistant acrylic finish. Provides 6-8 months protection against salt water, sun, industrial pollutants and corrosive elements.

^----- If you want to remove the wax from your car, just use dish detergent. It'll strip the wax right off!

I still say Nu-Finish POLISH is one of the best kept secret. I guess people dont bother to trust it because it super cheap. Normal bottle size is like 8.99 or something. It states a money back guarentee if not satisfied. Also I use this twice a year, first time outta the garage in spring....and almost half way though the summer....like august or so. Works great.
