How long does an average civic last?

How long will a 170,000 km civic last assuming it has been well maintained and serviced.?

forever if you are willing to throw a little money into it...

good friend of mine has a '77 and a '79, both are still mint, he has no idea how many times the odometer has rolled over... I'm waiting for him to sell me the '77 for another project/winter beater

icic, do u think that if i drive for an average of 6000km per year, and the motor does not show sign of rust, and it is very well maintained, will this investment last at least 5 years??

My 94 CX Hatchie has 240,000 on the orignal D15....

I change fluids at regular intervals and its going for its third timing belt soon..

Bloody thing won't die....

Doesn't leak oil, 460KM on 1 tank with A/C on

I got a tiny bit of rust in the usual places...

I want a new motor dammit...

Not worth it to me until this one croaks...

I really need to learn from you guys
I am 18 right now in the markham region.

I earned all the money myself to buy both the car plus the insurance, that's why my budget is very tight right now, a nice looking civic around $10,000 would be nice (i dont race at all ^^ but i want a nice lookign car ^^).

Comment: Blk./grey int., auto., ps, pb, new tires & winters. Exc. cond., no rust. Safety & e-test.170,500 km. $6900. OBO.

What do you think?? A civic CX 1996.

220K Still near-mint. No special stuff, just wash and wax. Other than normal service, changed battery twice and a caliper. 10 years old this month.

The Honda marketing calls it 'an investment'. True, in my case.

Just make sure you ditch that rubber piece that goes around the rear wheel well. All it does is hold in dirt and salt thus causing that part of the body to always rust first!

hi cosmic!!
for the blue civic you posted here, do you think the price is fair?

How much does it usually cost to have an AC installed?

drive hard and "accidentally" mis-shift ..hehehe j/k

Honda engines are monsters they never die

jj2ii3344 : I've got a question for you, do you think you'll get hooked on driving? Or are you hooked already? If you are, then I'd recommend getting a manual car (yup you may not know how to drive it now, but it only takes a day to learn how to drive one, more obviously to perfect it )

I'm suggesting this cuz in the end you 'may' end up beating yourself over with a stick regretting not getting one You're 18..still young, who needs the luxury of automatic hehehe...

Thanks ryuujin!
Let me see if my parents would let me get a manual, but I doubt it ^^
I am planning on getting an old civic, then put on a body kit. I don't need speed but I want the appearance, hahaah. Thanks for your input ^^

I know a girl that is selling her hatch perfect paint with rims and it is auto so if you are serious I can arrange for you to look at it. She is asking around 4900 so it is still negotiable I was going to buy t myself but I was looking for a manual car and found one.

IMO before you buy a car get someone that knows a lot about a car and the engine to look over it before you buy a lemon. It may look good but may not be all it appears to be.
