the driver side door of my coupe won't open. i dunno what happened. i drove to work, got out, locked my door and then after work my key just wouldn't work. i had to climb into the car through the passenger side.

i don't have power locks or anything. i just spent the last 3 hours trying to get it open and nothing works. i can't even tear the inside door out because the door is closed shut.

any suggestions?

i might have to bring it into a shop this week, but i won't have time till wednesday...

your linkage fell off. Take the door panel off and look at it. On some cars there are little plastic or metal clips that break after a lot of use.

how are you supposed to take the door panel off when you cant open the door?

you will have to break into your car in order for you to open the door and have it checked out.

my friend had the same problem, n i managed to get the door panel half off but can't find the source. i believe its the mechanism in the latch/lock itself.

see if you can find an identical door panel at the junk yard and get it cheap. if so, then buy it, and cut your old one away to reveal the linkage. fix your problem and replace the door panel. or you can call CAA and ask them to slim jim the door open.
