Hatch Release

can i do or can someoneshow how to create something that would open my hatch from the inside (near driver seat..)

right now..there is no latch, no cable no nothing..so i either turn car off go outside..or..fold driver seat down, crawl to back seat and open..

it's a honda civic CX 2000

u can get actuators.

are u kidding me? there is no hatch release cable beside the fuel door release? what kinda ghetto mobile is that?

if you want, just go to a junk yard and pull all the related parts off a junked car. it would be some work, but ... I guess it would be worth it.

There is in 1996-1998 Civics. For hatchbacks atleast, not sure about the other body styles.

the base models were the ones without it.
i am pretty sure the higher end ones come with it.
atleast my ctr has it thats for sure.

Get an actuator installed to lock/unlock the hatch so when you get out, so you don't need to pull the key. The actual "popping" effect become futile once you get the actuator, and it is easier to do, provided you have an alarm with aux.

just wondering, i picked up a 2000 cx and it has no hatch release cable either, and now the key doesnt work in the hatch, is there any other way i can open the hatch??

i got the actuator..and man..i love it..contact selective sound..they did it for me..they'll probably fix your key problem..
