engine wash
#6
DIY. Take it to a coin wash, take a plastic bag and cover your battery, intake and battery. Spray it down with some degreaser, let it sit for a couple of mins, scrub your bad areas and then wash it down. You could use some dressing afterwards if you want it all pretty and shiny (y)
Dont waste ur money with the engine wash formula @ coin washes, isnt strong enough.

I do mine at least once a year, sometimes twice. Make sure you cover your alternator with a bag. If you have an aftermarket intake, I'd cover that up with a bag as well.
If go somewhere to do it, they'll charge anywhere between $20 -$50 to do it. A bottle of simple green cost less than $10 dollars. You probably won't even find a place that charges $20 dollars, it'll probably be more than that. I remember when I worked at crappy tire, we charged $45 dollars to wash the engine bay, lmao. Suckers would actually pay that price too. It takes like 5 mins to do.
Here are some quick pics I just took.
