So here's my dillema, I want to repaint my car sometime in the summer, there's some rust around the rockers and the antenna, oxidized roof, stuff like that, it's the stock charcol grey from the ef's. I like the color, but sometimes think about going another color, something like a teal or a silver. The only thing that steers me away from doing a color change, is that if i do a color change i want to chage everything, i dont want to have a different color engine bay, or around the hatch and stuff like that, but then price comes into play. So if I repainted it the stock color, everything would be gravy. I need some opinions, sometimes i think about buying a beater, and driving that everyday, and then ripping everything out of my hatch, including the engine, windows, interior, stuff like that, and sending it to the paint booth like that. I know that if I take it to a shop and get them to do all the body work and with a complete color change that i'm going to be paying an arm and a leg. Any opinions or experiences would help out.

hey kyle, i would say get a cheap beater, and rip everything out, to as much of the body work yourself and send it in just for a spray... and if you want, ill come help you, i like doing projects...

but if you dont wanna have that much down time in the car, then just paint it a close color maybe with a little flake or pearl and the engine bay will still match somewhat... and always try to do as much body work yourself to keep costs down

Yeah, so what's wrong with that, just because my credit is bad how does that mean that I cant inquire about painting my car I mean, I dont owe any outstanding money to anyone, I just have bad history on my credit, I just want some opinions, if i decide to do it myself, it wont cost me much money to prep it and do the body work , my brother has all the tools, it will just take time, and then i can just save up to get it painted.
