I'd like to get rid of the ugly orange piece in my headlights, thus making them clear. I read a DIY at 7thgencivic.com that the bumper cover must be removed in order to get at the headlights. The removal of the bumper seems simple enough in theory, but I'm just wondering if there is anything I should be aware of before going at it, or whether it's as simple as I think it will be. I realize that I'll need another set of hands to help me slide it off so I don't drop it on the gritty floor, but is there anything else?

My goal is to clear the headlights and replace my stock white turn signal with a coloured one, preferably blue, if its available (not amber, cuz that's what my signal looks like now due to the orange insert in the headlight). Hence my next question is, where can I get blue turn signal bulbs (if they exist) and how much do they cost?

As far as I know its just a matter of removing the screws where the side fenders are (there is only 1 on each side), and jacking your car up to get at the screws underneath the front of the bumper. The real pain in the *** is probably going to be taking the headlight out of its housing because it looks like its sealed in there tight.

It's not hard at all when it comes to the housing, if you want...I can help you with that part. I did my headlights with no problems at all, look in my sig.

I know that vato_loco offered to help me out with painting my headlights black like his (as shown in his sig), but I think that looks better on lighter coloured cars like white and silver. Anyone have any thoughts on how it'd look on a blue 7th gen?

How about the blue turn signal...anyone use that (if it exists), and does it work well ?

I think clear looks better on dark coloured cars, but black or gunmetal lookd better on light coloured cars. Oh, the blue signals are illegal and will just get you a ticket in some citiies.

clearing lights literally this easy - dont waste money getting other people to do it for u..

what u need:
10mm wrench
screwdriver
black krylon spraypaint for plastics
oven
mono exterior clear sealant
meguiars plastic X (optional)

1. remove bumper:
pop the hood, remove 7 black clips just above the grill with screwdriver.
go under the car, remove 2 bolts using 10mm wrench.
start car, turn steering wheel to one side to gain access to wheel well - look up the fender at the end of the bumper, unscrew one screw.
turn wheel to other side, remove screw from other fender.
bumper should come right off. lay it on a soft surface to avoid damage.

2. remove lights
there are 5 bolts i believe for each light. remove them with 10mm wrench. they're easy to find. unplug the lights

3. open light housing
place lights in oven for 5 minutes (put in the middle not so close to heating elements to avoid damage)
remove and pull it apart. u can use flathead screwdriver to pry it out gently. use screwdriver to dissemble housing.

4. clean the lense and housing inside/out with soft cloth.
optional: use meguiars plastic X to clean/polish lense (works great)

5. spraypaint evenly (do not spray chrome area around bulbs)
wait 45 minutes

6. re spray as many layers as u'd like (i did 3)

7. put housing back into assembly, bake again to push the housing together. reseal. wait to dry. make 100% sure theres no holes, condensation will occur otherwise.

8. re bolt everything back on using reverse steps.

Thanks 00project, but what temp should the oven be? I heard 250F is good... you thoughts?

Yeah 250 is good, just leave it for 10mins in the oven.
