2005 Civic Fog Lights..

Would like these fogs..
Fog Lights

I assume I follow these instructions..
http://www.handa-accessories.com/civic/05fogs.pdf

Seems like an entire weekend job to me..haha

I thought the fogs would just use a standard fused relay from the battery to switch to fogs, didn't think it was going to be this complex. I'm sure I can manage though.

Any advice/tips?

Out of curiosity. Anyone get Honda to install these for them? price?

It's not that hard dude. It just takes time, and make sure you measure 5 times and cut once. Tips: take it slow, read before you do something, there are alot of DIY on the internet. make sure you have all the tools before you start, cause you wouldn't want to be driving to the local ctire with a hole in your bumper. the wiring is the easiest part imo. If you can do minor maintenance on your car, ie change oil, you can do this. When i got my car, i did all this stuff (headlights, fogs, etc) first, before i even knew how to change my own oil. which i still don't do on my own, lol. DTP for all my needs . But seriously, if you run into any problems, google it, if you still cant find the answer, post a thread in the lighting section, and we'll try to help you out.

Thanks for the re-assurance.

I'm definitely going to get the fogs and try it myself.

Again, I tried searching but could not find anyone with the OEM style smoke fogs that could comment on light output, quality of product..etc.

Anyways, I'll post up my thoughts after installing, I guess.

Will be using halogens for black headlights and fogs.

stop fooling yourself with halogens. get hids and call it a day. Look in the vendor section, under "hid lighting" good price, good service, good warranty. If you ask, "hmmm, what color should i get?" I would say, get the 8000k (a white-ish / purple-ish color) or the 6000k (a white color) with 3000k (yellow) fogs. real good setup!

good luck with the install!

How's the glare with these fog lights and HID's?

I've put HID's in fogs before and the glare was insane.
By the look of these capsules, it appears that HID's would not be well suited in them.

glare? I don't see any glare in mine. The light output is much greater with HIDs even with the 35w bulbs.

Someone needs to upload pictures or direct me to somewhere on this forum with these fogs and HID's or halogens in them.

I hired someone to install the fogs for me, but I installed the HIDs after.

The glare is INSANE...... so it's not always on, eventually I'll try to dummy up a glare shield..... but that'll be a long ways down the road.

How does this bother you? You're driving the car, and it's not like someone is sitting in front of your car all the time when you're fog lights are on.

Thanks for the picture.
I figured the glare would be too intense for public road driving.
