hey any of you guys using a sidekick here in ontario?
im thinking of grabbing one and getting a rogers plan for it.

do i need a data plan to get the messenger an stuff to work on it?

if any1 knows anything about em... let me know.

you will need data to use instant messaging and other web based things...other than that sms and voice calling will all be the same as a normal phone

because i read on a couple spots on the net that only phone calls and sms work on rogers here

well I dont know who else you are gonna instant message on the sidekick server...so yea it will be sms, voice calling only

check out Craigslist Toronto right now, a listing went up yesterday for a hiptop 2 and a grandfathered unlimited data plan (the unicorn of the cell phone industry)

its not that great of a phone without the service...if you want QWERTY there are better, more modern options...

lol, it used to be ballin....I used to have one and i loved it. not the the greatest phone (thats why i had another line) but great if you use a lot of email and browse the internet. dont go with rogers for the plan. the unlimited data plan is ONLY with fido and its like an extra 20 bucks a month. but like viper says theres a tons of better newer phones with the same capabilities and more than the hiptop2, so id recommend going with something else but the data plans from other providers are ridiculously expensive last time i checked.

yea called fido about that hiptop2 w/ the data unlimited data plan but they said it wasn't available even though everyone on the internet claims it is with the hiptop2.

think im just gonna go with a Curve...or ya somthing like you got cynikal...that new kraizer is sick but probably go with HTC P4350 ...think pmall will have it?

just looking at rogers plans now. too see which one too go with...cell phone plans are all so frikking expensive now!
i got two phones now && i pay less for both of them then i would for a new plan now.
