SOHC power?
I drive a mostly stock 92 si hatch w/d16z6.
I keep dreaming of the day i can stuff a nice b18c5 into it or a k20, but i realize that it will not be achievable for a long time..
Just bought a house and moneys tight..
Now the reason i bought this car to begin with was because its a sporty little car that gets around quite well.. It still brings driving enjoyment everytime I drive it.
who enjoys their SOHC ?

My personal comment - if you can't create power out of the engine that came with the car, then you can't create power with any other platform. So there goes the excuse for swapping.
"swapping" doesn't create power. You are simply transplanting another engine into the car which was made with more power to begin with however, that does not mean that the original engine inside your engine bay is not capable of matching it, or even surpass it.
Not hating on other Honda engines. But I see it as a more challange to build up with what I have than take the simple route.
For now, D16 is my choice of platform. Call me stupid but who the hell change their stock D16 engine mounts with Hasport ones? On a bone stock D16? This shows my dedication to D16 and my goal to make this one a all-year-round-fun-to-drive vehicle.
It is not I love D16, or SOHC. It is because the car came with it. And because the car came with it, and there are also other folks who have made power on D16, therefore, I believe I can do the same as well.
If I don't want to work with what I have, then I wouldn't even work on my Civic in the first place.

lovin the D16Y8, gets good gas milage (7.6L per 100km if i go easy = 31 MPG) and has enough power for right now. at 175,000km it better last me awhile, can't afford another.
i haven't even bothered to do I/E/H...whats the point, this is a gas milage engine in my case, so i'm just leaving it alone.
