I called the MTO once about a large crack/pothole on a 401 onramp. It did eventually get fixed, but that was 2 weeks after I called.

Looks like the folks in the government are doing some listening about the pot holes!!
Last night I got tied up in a traffic jam going West on the 401 in the Express lanes between the 404/DVP and Yonge because they decided to shut down the 2 right lanes to fill in pot holes!!!

If you guys consider it...
fixing pot holes is not benificial to the government.
THe government saves money by not fixing pot holes... and as a result.. your cars wear down faster. This allows the government to generate more revenue by having car parts and services being purchased and therefore GST and PST are the aftermath they receive. So it's a win-win situation for them not fixing the roads.

You know what I figure also...
It's a lose-lose situation for drivers..
If we have the government not giving two ****s fixing the roads... We damage our cars by driving over HUGE pot holes and screwing up our suspension, tires, wheels, alignment... blah blah blah... That costs us $$$!
But reverse the situation, what if the government fixed the road...? They would continually block off 2 of 3 OR 3 of 4 lanes for 12 months of the year and cause HUGE traffic jams.. you'd be wasting countless HOURS sitting in traffic jam... this wastes your time and gas.. which also costs $$$!
For us it's a lose-lose situation.
COnsider 427 Southbound today.... it was solid from Dundas to Queensway because they blocked off 2 of 3 lanes..... I don't know if they fixed the road there but it's not that bad condition there... and I won't say if they repaired it yet because I haven't driven past there.
BUT on countless occasions coming back home from work... I pass by the 401 Express Westbound area around Yonge St... they block off 2 of the 5 lanes in the express (right lanes) and you know what... they've done it so many times! I see them do it in summer.. I See them do it in fall and winter! Each time I drive by there, the same old **** quality roads are there.. they don't repair ****. These ****in' workers spend countless number of my tax dollars driving up and down the 401 laying out their cones blocking off two lanes of traffic and not even fixing it! (and if you drive the 401 area around Yonge (as per described above).. that area is in serious need of work.
The (left to right) 1st lane has a HUGE depression and is littered as **** with pot holes.
The 2nd lane has fewer pot holes but has an even larger dip than the left lane!
The 3rd lane has no dip but the road is rippled and it feels like you're going over thousands of miniture speedbumps.
The 4th lane has a small depression but is littered with pot holes on the left side but has mini-speed bumps on the right side.
The 5th lane has the stupid concrete wall like 1 inch from the road... and has a billion pot holes in it.. no bumps just huge pot holes that make the grand canyon look like a dent. Furthermore, driving in this lane makes staying in the express difficult because you have to merge to one of the 4 other **** box lanes before it goes to the collectors.
Bah. Rant over. We lose both ways.

Pulse24 Is doing a story on the potholes in toronto check out their website and put down the places you think the potholes are the worst. Personally I don't drive the 401 often enough to know the potholes there, but the ones on front street between yonge and church are pretty friggin bad, theres isnt 1m of road thats flat there lol.

nospleeny .. those lanes on the 401 over yonge are blocked off so they can re do the bridge that takes time... as for the rest of the roads... resurfacing them can only be done when the temperature is high enough. I remember the winter they called in the army the 401 was so bad near the DVP that they ripped the surface completely and left it as concrete for the remainder of the winter... the surface was put down when the spring hit and conditions were right .... and there was little traffic back up because they did it at night...
we had a conservative government then... life was good... but now the whole flock had to vote liberal... I bet if Eves was still in power the road surface would have been torn up and left till spring...
now with the liberal government suddenly there is no money ....
