Police are not trained to use their guns to wound, they aren't trained for headshots or shooting down chandeliers onto criminals heads either. That's the difference between the movies and real life.
If they draw their gun, they aim at the target's centre of mass (torso) because that increases their chances of actually hitting the target and decreases the chances of that bullet continuing on through some drywall or a wood floor and catching some kid in their bedroom.
Hitting a target with a handgun is hard to do when the target is a piece of paper. When it's some dude waving a knife at you, I don't imagine that it gets easier. Just look at all the useless wannabe gangster parasites who shoot up buses and innocent bystanders.
It's too bad about this guy, but he put the cops in that situation and they have every right to protect themselves while they're doing their duty.
If his medication was a factor that's sad, and his family should have been taking better care of him, but that doesn't change the choice that the cops had to make.

You cant just shoot someone in the leg when you're life is on the line. Have you ever fired a gun before? You'd know how difficult it is.
They haven't realeased all the details, so maybe he had two knives and was trying to stab the constables. No one knows what happened untill the release all the details. So quick to jump on the "I hate pigs" bandwagon.

yea they shoot in the head so theyre families have to have closed casket funerals...right on. cops use their guns as their last resort to weaken the person

and it wasnt a story but believe me, im 18 and i have LOTs of stories to justify why i hate cops and why more than half of them are crooked. AND i have people that will back up my stories or witnesses i should say

as much as i hate police theres NOTHING i can do but obey the law and do what i have to do so dont get me wrong, but dont give me that bull**** that cops are legit. some of them are and its sad that their fellow co-workers had to **** it up for them.

theres only ONE cop ill give it up too and still i would NEVER trust him and he told me stories about his dirty cop encounters. he told me when 6 cops bodied a guy and he showed up as the last cop (or i forget what they call the last cop to show up at the scene of the crime) and he talkd to the witnesses and the victims and evaluated his own story and he realized that all those cops were dirty but he kept his word when they got interviewed the next day.
he told me he faces racism all the time, cuzz his wifes brown and hes a white guy with a russian last name.

The point is actually your claims are full of "probably"s and pure ignorance. Cop corruption happens absolutely, when proven. It's called facts, wait for them, and keep you're ridiculous biases to yourself. It's a sad story and let it be.
