The F.U's, ALL, Scream, Bad Brains (one of the best gigs I ever saw),Articles of Faith....sigh...I still have some vinyl..but mostly in my memories...
Ahh memories. I've been going to shows since 86 and some of the best times of my life are punk/hardcore related. Are you talking about the Bad Brains show at the concert hall with HR singing? Anyhow in my opinion punk music now can't touch the punk of old although there are some bands like US Bombs that still keep the spirit alive but hardcore on the other hand is harder than ever. Sworn Eneny, Ringworm, Terror, Hatebreed, man so many good bands out now.

Actually I saw them in '84 in NYC with HR fronting, but I did see them in the Concert Hall in '86 as well. Yeah, the new stuff just doesn't touch the old, especially the socio-political DYI stance. Remember Better Youth Organization...Yeah Bad Brains just cooked serious ***..

On a different note - I remember the first concert I saw in the concert hall was in '85 - Venom, Slayer and Razor. Razor sucked ***, Slayer just ripped hard, and Venom - well they couldn't play worth **** anyways - but they were fun.

I saw the Slayer Reign In Blood tour at the concert hall in 86 with Sacrifice opening but I remember hearing about the Venom Slayer Razor show. I guess you've seen shows at the Bridge (Ildiko's)as well. I remember seeing DRI for the first time there. I won the tickets from Brian Taylors old radio show "agressive rock". I won so many tickets from that show. One of the best shows of all time for me had to be Poison Idea at the Sibony club. That was sick.

Yeah I remember the aggressive rock hour that Brian used to host on CKLN.. Yep I even remember that wonderful haunt "Larry's Hideaway" - Hardcore Sundays...Man that was a long time ago...

Sacrifice - now I think I still have a cassette of theirs stowed away in my attic...Brian was really keen on them then. I saw them with Celtic Frost and Voivod and Nasty Savage in Montreal..

Ildiko's - used to know the guy who did the sound there - a guy name Alan - he has his own painting company now...

I saw Nasty Savage once and the singer (nasty ronny i think) was throwing concrete blocks in the air and letting them land on his chest. Needless to say he was a bloody mess. Kinda like a Gwar show with real blood.

i remember my first cd i bought was rage against the machine's self titled... the parents didn't understand the cover of that one... haha then i borrowed punk in drublic and ribbed by nofx off my cousin and i haven't looked back since i think i have a soft spot for nofx cause they got me started... plus they play so many different styles of music...

Avenged Sevenfold? Never heard of them til now. Check out a band called "A Perfect Murder". They sound kinda like God Below but harder. I think they just signed a record deal with Victory or something. Definatly worth checking out if your into metallic sounding hardcore.

I've got a couple of those kickin around I think and as for being wierd just cause we listen to music that ain't mainstream it doesn't make us wierd. It makes us "original".

Yeah - That vocalist from Nasty Savage did the same thing at the Montreal gig - Just weird...I agree - very GWAR like..

So I decided to slam on for old times sake my Exodus LP (Bonded by Blood) - I forgot how they rocked...

Perfect Murder are pretty good in my books. I can dig them.

Rick - that first release by Rage was the best. I love slamming that on my system in my ride. Attitude!!!
BTW what's on that compliation?

And yes Tikal - brand us weird - we have open minds and listen to all types of music..
