Dude...it's all up to you if you have the cash for it...It's better than renting a car though...Since you're buying a house??? Better lease the car instead, at least you won't be paying $500-$600 a month for the car not including insurance...
Wait a sec, you have G2 only, dude you better get your G lic first so your insurance won't be that high!
Good luck dude!

if your about to buy a house I would stay away from it, you don't need another large expense right away......

leasing an Si will be expensive, currently leasing an EX with 2000 down is around 360 a month, my guess is the Si will be around 400 or so.....wait a while and buy a used one...

Also consider the amount of driving you do. Leasing is fine if you don't go over the Mileage otherwise, forget leasing.

CORRECTION
06 Si with 0 down will be around $495 a month on a lease

there are advantages and disadvantages to both leasing and financing.

If you can write off your a % of your car use as business/work expense then Leasing is better.

dont waste ur money on an ef. to get the best possible lease payment on an 06 civic, lease a demo model which will drop ur monthly payment significantly. focus on the house first (with a house you likely wont lose money where as with a car, it's an expense and not an investment)

what are you talking about, its almost always cheaper to have an old car. He could spend like 2k on upkeep on that EF (this is a high end number, it would probably be less) and that would be the equivalent of the down payment on a new car (not even really). In the end, they both would provide transportation the same, just one wouldn't be as nice....in a few years when things have settled down go lease/buy a new car....

if you can afford it do it. if not then dont....

seeing as how you are actually posting a question like this tells me you cant so i would stay away if i were you.

house is always better then car.
since a car is not going to be an investment.

if ur buying a house

just get a newer car, like a nice low km EK, that way u dont get ur self in debt, u can always sell ur ef for cheap, and still have a newer car to drive and **** around with, parts are cheap and insurance is not bad....

second get a G, with a G2 everything is rape..

go to the junkyard (or the boards here) and find a 94-2000 teg centre console, fits in pretty well, gives you an arm rest and cup holders and makes your car look cooler

man, i'm in the same situation as you..
the house vs. car deal vs. keeping your money deal

if you've got a car that runs just fine KEEP IT.
do whatever it takes to keeping it running optimal and you're ok in my opinion.
why burden your pockets with car payments, insurance payments, service fees and so forth.

**** that.

i like my money very much thank you.

btw, why can't you settle for a sedan or something? why would you go for broke and get an Si. if you can COMFORTABLY make ALL payments and still have room left for savings then hey, do it.

lease rates are based on the resale value of a car, depending on how the company values the resale of the car at the end of the lease term, it can be better or worse than financing. I believe how leasing works is you are paying for the depreciation of the car over the lease term, plus ofcourse an interest fee. At the end of the lease term when you have to option to buy the car, depending on the price, you can make a profit or a loss. My uncle leased a honda odyssey a few years ago, at the end the term the buy back value of the car was less then the market value, he bought it out, and turned around and sold it at a profit. If he had financed it, not only would he have payed that interest rate for the whole value of the car, but he wouldn't have gotten that extra money at the end because the car had a higher market value. Mind you, interest rates are higher leasing you have you have to look at it carefully, and what I just said assumes you have the cash at the end of the period to buy the car at the end the lease.

so leasing can be good, just depends on the circumstances and what car, and how the company evaluates the car...
