Recently the LCD screen on my Toshiba laptop went from working fine to being very dark to the point where I can barely see my wallpaper and the icons on the desktop.

I was told by a Toshiba technician that it could be either the FL Inverter or the back light. I replaced the FL inverter with a new one I ordered from Toshiba, but that didn't solve my problem. Now I'd like to get a back light, but Toshiba has theirs on backorder not to mention that they charge $160.00 for it.

I looked on e-bay and the ones on e-bay are cheaper, but with shipping from the US to Canada and with duty they come to almost $100.00.

My question to you is this: does anyone know where I can get a back light for my laptop somewhere locally or if not somewhere in Canada?

I'd prefer the part 'cause I think I can replace it myself. If it helps at all the back light is 290mm long and 2mm wide.
