Well it is a problem down there.

cops can be in bed with a lot of dealers.
Is that an opinion or a fact? (be careful of what you say, because one day it may come back to bite you hard on the azz) ; )

===

Bruce Fee gets pulled over one day downtown.... the cop says "Hey, aren't you the guy that said the cops are in bed with the drug dealers? Hold on one second....".

lol

Connie, you'd be surprised.

We've had a 'friendly chat' with the RCMP before. haha

I am not to worried, I'm pretty sure anyone investigating comments I've made others places would come to the realization I'm just an idiot.

Plus I've trained with some cops. No way he'd have me on the floor.

umm...i think those "idiots" purchased their homes BEFORE that area became a major clubing district. the community dates back to the 1830s so a resedential erea was clearly established before the "clubbing" scene. im gonna take a wild guess here but i dont think the docks existed during that time...

If someone is buying a home in downtown Toronto they have to realize that the city is going to develop. We can't stay with 1830's era city planning just so that these "idiots" are happy.
If you live in downtown Toronto face the fact that there is going to be noise, if you don't like it, don't live downtown.

most bars wont open if they dont have their license since most of their revenue is created through alcohol sales, the markup on alcohol is like 800% so without that they cant afford to pay everybody for working if nobody is buying alcohol...so a club with no license is an empty club so they close until they get their license back...no open club = no loud music

the deal with island homes is that they are appraised at a fair value for the house itself, not considering the CHOICE location, and if you want a crack at them you pay a yearly fee to stay on a list. every time there is a house for sale they start at the top of the list and ask everyone if they want to buy it. you might have to wait less than a year, you might have to wait 20 years before finding a house you want to buy there. but it seems like a decent system. the only problem is people who are fixing those homes up into absolute monsters (go for a walk there and check them out!), eventually the island will be all swanky expensive homes instead of cottages.

but in my opinion, **** those islanders for complaining about the noise. they all sound so snooty whenever i see them on the news.. they are lucky to live there and they should not act as if they are not a part of toronto. sure there is a little noise now and then.. i know they would like it to be dead silent on the island, but it's just not gonna happen. if you want silence, move up north.. this is toronto dammit!

Ok, how would you feel if you found out a large club was going to be opening close to you.... close enough that you could feel the bass beat at 2 am? Yeah, I thought so... you'd complain too.
