deep thought about black people in the 80s
on TV and stuff, a lot of black guys would call eachother 'brother' and other black girls would be called their 'sisters'
some of my white friends use this terminology today to refer to a close friend. As always, we have white trying to act cool.
However, if you were a black guy in the 80s and you married a black girl, you could say "i'm marrying a sister" everything would be alright, but if you said "i'm marrying my sister" you might get some weird looks (unless you were a redneck from Alabama but that's besides the point.)
So if you did marry a sister, would you still call refer to her as a sister, and/or would you say things like "i'll be at the bar with my sister?"
