Question Are the CN Tower's days numbered?

How long will Toronto hold the record?

I guess we will find out in about 4 years or so.

Center of India Tower (proposed)

I guess the CN Tower will still be the tallest "tower" (technicaly) in the would. The Center of India Tower would be a building.

They might as well build the Center of India Tower in Ontario now, no?

Thats harsh!!! Would you happen to say the same comment about the Taj Mahal?

I would have to disagree with that, because I think tourist attractions would be better for the economy.

Blah, I think that would be a great thing to see.

(EDIT: I got rid of some of the harsh thoughts on my mind about that comment!)

Unless they added something that was 113m tall, then I don't think so.

PETRONA TOWERS - KUALA LUMPUR - 450m

CN Tower Toronto, Ontario Canada - 553.33m

Even the CN Tower's upper observation space deck, is only 3m below the Petrona tower's overall height.

Where are you getting your info from? If you are saying "building", then you might have a point, but alot of people around the world consider the CN Tower a building as well.

india themselves wouldn't have to spend "that" much on it... they get the US to pay a percentage of the total price... then give the US a percentage of profit or something like that.... or just put a few restraunts inside like mcdonalds and such and its wouldn't be that bad

I wouldnt call that idea in India a tower...It looks more like a building...The CN Tower is a "Tower"...Look at the size of the base of that Center of India Tower...Its massive and wouldnt constitute the label of a tower....Compared to the base of the CN Tower...TORONTO RULES BABY!!!!

whoa, kids.... 2222 ft is NOT 277 meters NOR can 224 stories be fit into 277 meters, unless it's a building for pre-schoolers and midgets. It's obviously a very poor joke.

I'm surprised no one else noticed that B.

It should say 677m....not 277m.

I just used that pic, because it's the first one I found.

Here's some more info on it......turns out it is being financed by the Beatles former spiritual guru.

http://www.geocities.com/PicketFence..._of_india.html

This 224-story, 2222-foot(677m) pyramid-shaped building in
Katangi, India was scheduled for November 6. The building is
being financed by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi (The Beatles former
spiritual leader), and will be his new world headquarters.
The firm designing this tower are known for a previous large
development, the Twin Towers in Battery Park City, NYC.

Some people are very mis-informed about India's situation. True there is hunger, but your going to tell me that there is no hunger in other parts of the world. Just because India's population exceeds 1 billion, of course the percentage of hungry people is going to be high and doesn't mean it can't support building of large buildings. Actually in a way, this building would create more jobs, and jobs=money , money=food, food=less hunger.

So from what your saying is that in order to proceed in future developments in a country, they have to solve their hunger problem? Well I guess then every country should drop every major plan and feed the needy....
