Need advice with a Tower Bar for an 97 Civic EX

Alright well, I've got 6th Gen with an after market intake system on my car. The throttle body points upwards instead of the conventional left side opening on 5th Gens. What I need to know is what kind and how will I install a Tower Bar on my car. I bought a Tower Bar already but, because the intake piping angles down at 90 degrees from horizontal, the pipe is in the way of the tower bar. My question is: Is there a way I can use this tower bar such that it doesn't rub against the intake piping or will I need to find or custom make a tower bar? Aswell, another option someone told me about was to some how custom make piping to go around the engine and down the left side of the engine bay...he said that Shokker did this...(attention: Shokker...need help...PM please)...is this possible? Another option my friend and I were thinking about was to cut a hole in the hood and somewhat make it a ram-air system and have the piping come up a lil...then back and up at an angle to the hook scoop unit and filter...Are there applications for this design or am I imagining the impossible? Let me know ASAP...cause it's buggin the *bleep* out of me...thanks.

yo guy, PLEASE do not cut a hole in your hood...PLEASE!! I will ask my friend if he can give you this perfect elbow piece that fits ontop of the throttle body that will make your intake tubing sit parallel to the ground man, but whatever you do..DO NOT CUT YOUR HOOD FOR AN INTAKE please

that's a short ram intake, it's comes up from the bottom because the throttle body faces upwards unlike the Si(Canada). The stock box is removed so the tubing for the intake can be hooked up

well, I was going to adopt the intake on a 92 Celica turbo with the intake scoop only being like 10 inches wide and 4 inches long and place it as close as I can to the edge of the hood closest to the front windshield...would be small enough for my application but, if you can get your friend to help me on this one, it would be much appreciated. Thanks...let me know.

I have a similar intake and tower bar...but, I tried puting the tower bar in and the intake piping gets in the way for me to mount it...judging by your picture, I'm not too sure how you got to push down your piping but, further explanation would be appreciated. Thanks...

werd man....

umm...if your strut bar is like his, and not like the Type R/SiR style then you should still be able to find a way to fit the strut bar over

Or you could take the route of getting an Si intake manifold and putting that onto the block instead

Custom piping?

I did no such thing!

My engine bay looks the exact same as v33k's. All it has is the intake (ractive) and then the strut bar over it (ractive). It is a VERY tight fit, but I also put so tape around the strut bar to make it fit nicely instead of the intake and strut bar hitting each other.

It should be okay, but you need to get both a strut bar and intake. Your strut bar won't fit over your stock air box UNLESS you get one of the Neuspeed four point design strut bars.

If you have any questions, please feel free to PM me!
