get a resonator, it will tone done the noise and make it a deeper tone

i just went back when i got my catback installed and they put it in for free, it shouldn't be much more then 50 buks for the product

maybe installing a resonator might help....or two resonators...

it WILL tone it down

edit: what he said

yes, it does affect performance, because they find a spot in the middle, cut it out and put it in....

so, say you have a 2.5inch catback...the air is coming out right? but then it has to go into a smaller tube (resenator) then come out again to a 2.5 then break out...but it does work though by toning it done with not a high pitch rice to it

Canadian Tire also sells silencer in their stores, but I am not sure about the diameter. ^^

canadian tire sells 4" silencers...

i have a 3.5" muffler on my car and it was DAMN loud so i slaped on a silencer that i grabed at a local perfomance shop... it really did bring down the noise but now instead of it making a loud noise it makes a low noise with some weird noise along with it...

my car sounds like its farting... it hurts to listen to it....

anyone know if a resonator would fix this??... cause i have a full catwith no resonator.....

or would it just be better to get the resonator and then get ride of the silencer???

I prefer stock exhaust - attracts less attention. And that way I can hear my CAI

if ur running straight pipe (no cat) the resonator can sometimes help out on the higher RPMs of things.....anyway, the gains/loss of installing a resonator are minimal and wont affect ur butt dyno....were talkin a max of 2hp loss!!

had a resonator installed on my CLK, after removing the cat. (beautiful V6 purrrrrrrr)

and had 2 resonators installed on a R33 I6 Skyline running straight pipes. it got better gains than running straight through exhaust and a much more enjoyable exhaust note!!

good luck, let us know what happens!!
