Anyone ever been to Halifax?

I'm going on 10-day business trip at the end of the month. I'm afraid that I'm going to be bored to hell.

It's only boring if you don't know anyone there.

halifax is pretty much a real city... bigger than anything between montreal and halifax.

there is a casino (cheap poker).. keith's bar has $2 beers (but a ghetto crowd)... late night pizza and crappy gyros... a bunch of bars... it's alright.. go on myspace.com search girls by postal code and ask them about the city... east coast girls are friendly.. some will meet up with you.

the dome is alright too.. just keep this in mind.. they've all got a bit of "stupid hick" in them.. we're closed to jaded, bitter, and spoiled.. so when someone there tells you about something... keep in mind you're from Toronto and their whole city might be garbage.

i was there for 2 nights... everywhere else along the east coast i stayed only one night... it was one of the better places to party..

Hey man,

Most of my family lives in and around Halifax and I've vacationed there alot. Very cool place to visit, and tons of friendly people. My cousin actually attends Delhousi University (sp?) in Halifax and loves the city/woman.

Have fun man,

Brad

I was their with the Naval Reserve in 2003 (no jokes please)

It's not bad, but I wouldn't go there for a vacation. The bar-scene, clubs are kind of cool on Barrington street. The O-club is a good one.

It's not exactly a happening place. A lot of the people are on and off employment insurance, and they can't afford a lot of high-class entertainment.

I would rather be on the other side of Canada than the east coast.

I was told, but I was never able to confirm this, but at the McDonalds, you can get a McLobster.....check this out! I am curious to know.

Do you like Rita McNeil? I think she is a newf, but she is always performing in Halifax. Last time I heard she fell through the stage. Then again, that may have been a joke.

If you see the Alexander Keith's guy out there, kick him in the nuts for me. (actually I heard that guy is from Toronto and he is in jail now)

go to the stripclub in dartmouth (across the bridge)

the owner is also the bartender and bouncer.

the stripper and waitress is also the owner's daughter.

there was no other staff.

i don't think it's the season, but if you like golfing, there is tons in the area. (that's why i was there)
