12hp gain? My azz. You wouldnt gain 12 horse power on a civic by ducting the intake straight out the hood ram air style. On a 04 mustang cobra maybe but not a civic. People will believe anything they see on tv. Hella ghey.

Yeah don't do it man. it wasn't made for performance, it was made cause it looks like an intercooler and they hoped to sell it to a bunch of ricers. just looking at it spells shat to me. but that is my opinion and it's not my choice so i'm not trying to be ignorent. go for a real one and support the K&N

well let your buddy know if you want. IMO they took something that is supposed to be simple and filled it with potential for disaster. by adding complexity they just increase potential failure. heya man check out ebay, your buddy could get one with a cone filter for pretty cheap! watch out for procarparts.com though cause i got one from them and after a month i still havn't found out when they will be shipping.

you would be better off getting a short ram intake that is taking air from aroudn the exhaust manifold, made with 1.5" piping.
