Question What's my fallen soldier worth?

My 2000 SE civic has been crushed beyond repair unfortunately

I believe the insurance company will write it off
So all I want to know is what it's worth ... I know there is a standardized book that the I companies use. Is there anyway of finding it on the NET or does someone have access?

2000SE civic 140K immaculate condition
thanks for any help

Pictures? Front end damage? Or rear, or side? What parts of the car remain in decent shape and are reuseable?

no pics
front end is banged up pretty bad ... hood bumper both front quarter panels, windshield, both light assemblies, and both airbags are all toast
that's why I think they call it a write off

before impact

I found the black book value calculator and it's worth between 5 and 6.5 g's
it really sucks because it can't be replaced for anywhere near that because of all the taxes and other admin fees

is it possible to ask for a replacement car that is similar instead off a cheque?

nope, they'll give you a cheque, they won't go find another car, that's your job...

i honestly think it's a little more than 6.5 g's... but i guess it depends on what company you're with...

i totaled my 93 DX hatch 3 years ago (so 2002) when it was 9 years old and i got 6.5 g's for it...

I wrote off a 96 EX 5 Speed Sedan w/ 202000 in march and I got 5800. But i kept the car and they deducted 17%, so it ended up being 4800

I took over 1000 in parts off of it, so it worked out to be favourable.

i didn't know you could get a cheque and keep the car
that would be ideal

how did you guys work that out with the insurance company?

If I can keep it and get reasonable amount of money I will part out
it's in incredible shape with the exception of the damage caused by the crash
