Considering that this thread is 2 months old, I wonder what the o/p picked.
I still think I would choose an RSX or 02+ SiR over a 99-00 SiR. They are nicer inside IMO and they are newer technology. |
looks like he picked a 2000

I still think I would choose an RSX or 02+ SiR over a 99-00 SiR. They are nicer inside IMO and they are newer technology. For example, I like older cars (roughly pre 2000) because of the more mechanical connection with the vehicle. There is more feeling and less electronic interference between your inputs to the vehicle and it's feedback to you. With ABS braking system, stability control, traction control, drive-by-wire throttle....it all gives a very numb feeling as if you're inputs are not directly connected with the vehicles components (in some cases, this is true), which I hate. Some people like smoothness all the electronic bells & whistles, and thats fine for them. But some (like me) prefer to have the vehicle do exactly what you want it to, when you want it to. Not have it do what the computer thinks the vehicle should do when it thinks is the best time to do it, if you get my drift. Though the RSX premium isn't really that much newer technology. They are heavier and use the mcphearson (sp?) strut front suspension, thus I would go with a pre 00 civic instead. To each his own. |
rsx. you can still put type s parts on it. both engines have tons of potential. However i believe that k20's are a little quicker. HOWEVER you could get the SIR and put a k20 in it. there are alot of ways to go. Sadly you cant put any b, h, or d series (with the exception of d17) in an rsx legally. More options with the SIR.

Why would you ever want to put a b,h or d series in a car that originally comes with a k20? Even if it's the entry level 160hp k20...
Most people swap in larger, if not, more powerful engines in their cars. Sure an h22 has ~200hp, but why go through the trouble? Just swap in a type S k20. |
