Smile Wanting to opt out of a lease early?

Hey everyone, I joined here couple days ago.

I currently own a Mazda 3 and I'm in the 3rd/4th year lease. I'm paying about $410/month. It's quite high because we had to cover the cost of a vehicle we traded in that was only financed for 6months. (long story..)

I'm looking to get into a new Si, I looked at the rates and it would be cheaper then what I'm paying now.

Has anyone had experience with this? Will a dealer do it?

Thanks,

your pretty much screwed, the dealer bought out your financed vehicle for u. thus $410 a month for a mazda 3 which should normally be around $250. basically ur paying for two vehicles. :S u need to find someone to take over ur lease. and that would have to be a sucker. theres nothing much a dealer would do for you, a lease is a contract... unless they offer you a huge penalty price.. but i doubt it, since ur paying $410 a month.

I was thinking something like a Honda dealer would take my Mazda 3 as a trade in and then let me lease or finance a new Si.

I was only thinking this cause I would assume car sales have slowed down due to the recession.

If you're leasing that Mazda 3, you don't own it so you don'in it t have any equity to use as a trade-in.

You have to return it to Mazda at the end of the lease, get someone else to take over the lease, or return it early and pay the early return penalties.

Given the way you've set up your lease, the most painless way is to just keep the Mazda and hold off getting that Honda until the lease runs out.

I used to work at Toyota, we took in early leases very often. basically, the dealership would find out how much you have owing on your lease and work that into the lease of a new vehicle.

pretty much the same thing that happened to you when you when you first got your mazda 3

dude its not even worth it. Finish your lease and then get a SI

Anyways could you exlplain why you are paying so much for your lease... It seems that you are paying for 2 cars when you only drive 1 which is only a lease. I know you traded in a car you finance , it seems you are still paying for a car you dont own anymore. (may as well kept it)

and yea dont set yourself for a higher rate. mazda 3 is a very nice car
