that's why you think your civic was more fun to drive. i believe the normal turbo wrx had a single cam engine with a 5spd tranny as to the dohc sti with 6 spd. i'm sure those are not the only differences though. it's a totally different beast.

both are DOHC =p, you can get 300hp out of a WRX pretty easy, still won't be an STi though, lots of upgrades on em
