Oddly enough, Crappy Tire. I got quotes from all my tire guys, and they were all in the $400 range. One of them is a good friend too, and told me to check out the Goodyear Winter Nordic at CT, so I did. My stock size was pricier, but then I busted out the Excel and calculated alternate sizes. The 135/80R13 I ended up picking up cost a total of $230 after taxes, and then I paid another 50 bucks to have them put on.
As a lot of people already said, winter tires don't make you into a driving god, but anyone that has ever done ANY form of motorsport, knows that tires are the best investment. I can think of plenty of situations where more power can't help you, but more grip will ALWAYS help you. I will always always have the right tire for the right situation. UHPs in the summer, winters in the winter, and R comps for the track. Anything less and you are seriously selling yourself and your car short.

No, nobody said that either. I said going 80 in weather like we had the other day was silly, which it is because that was a pretty bad storm.

Depends on the situation. Visibility, how much snow/ice is on the road, how much traffic there is...etc.

I have winters on, and They are a huge improvement, last year i had allseasons. But if you were outside last night at around 1am it was stupid to go anything above 50km/h but i saw lots of trucks and cars doing so. Risking your life is ok but in a storm like last night going any faster is putting other peoples lives at risk. you could hit a pedestrian (which wierdly enough i saw so many of them out at 1-2am last night) or you could hit a building or a post or another car. they dont bring out the snowplows early enough and they dont have enough of them to keep the roads clear i hope the government rethinks their snowplow policys and practices because it was hell to drive from toronto to oshawa.

Most cities are like that
It makes sense, When your in a city that has XXXXkm of residential streets and whatnot, you'll only want to go over it once right?
Not 2-3 times to plow the snow that just fell after you plowed the first time in the middle of the snow storm.

Woah, this thread is 90% fail and 10% win.

So you smoked a Lexus or a Cadillac in the snow... wow! dude you're my hero! Where do I sign up? do I have to drive a Honda to be win? wow, its fools like you who give Honda drivers a bad rep.

I hear there's a snow storm coming soon, you should try to go out and see how many cars you can smoke before you smash into a pole and kill yourselves.
