Should I??
Yesterday afternoon I went to the movies and when I came out there was a note on my car saying to call the mall security.
so I called and it turns out someone hit my car and they have a witness and plate numbers of them.
I was driving my beater witch is a damn tank.. so theres no damage other then a few scraches.. and the bumper my be slightly tweeked.. (I dont care)
but where the guy hit me, jesus!.. the guy must of took the front end off his car!.. theres parts of headlights, turn signals, paint, and a little bumper!
I dont care about the small damage I got.. but how could someone hit me that hard, and take off thinking they wouldnt get cought??..
should I report it to the cops?.. or just leave it...?
If I do report it.. do you think the cops will give me a hard time for not reporting it yesterday??..

I don't think the cops would give you a hard time for not reporting it the day before. As for you reporting the guy in the first place, that's totally up to you. I would only report him if there was damage to my car because I wouldn't want to have to pay for something that I haven't done.

to all above. And I don't think the cops would care much since half the time they don't even bother to show up on non-emergency situations such as your case. Not unless someone is hurt.
It's usually the collision centers you report to, not the police.

Mark, you could also get the info and call him to milk some cash out of him. Saying you wouldn't want to report it if he'll just cover for the damages. Make up some number and see if you got your popcorn and drink pay for at the movies for your trouble.

what ever happened to being a good sameritan...Yes the person who hit you if a dumb ***, but that doesn't justify you also being a dick towards something you dont really care about, which would **** over another person...Maybe the guy who hit you was in panic, or was like 19 and new if this was reported he wouldn't be able to drive because his insurance company would rape him...Needless to say i say you drop it and dive the guy a break.

^Right on!! The good samaritan is the person who jotted down the plate #.
If this person hit your dog or your loved ones and bolt, would that justify in letting him roam free?

WTF?!!!??!!?
Not only imagine if he hit your good car.. imagine if he got away with it..!
That would be real ****ty... besides he already traded in his "dont be a dick back to me card" when he tried to get away with it and bouced from the scene. just my opinion
