Jack your car up from the front. If you look underneath your front bumper, just slightly towards the drivers side, go in a bit about arms length, you should see a metal bump. Put your jack on this to jack it up. Once the cars is up high enough, put your jack stands on the jack points, on the chassis just behind the front tires.

Admire people who change the oil themselves. Mechanic does mine for a decent price, no complaints.

I already bought the necessary materials like oil, washer and filter. did i miss anything? now all i need is some free time (hell if i get lazy i might just go to a mechanic) but i will post a DIY with pics sometime if i can.

do you have ramps? or jacks? and what about oil pan? and then a funnel to pour old oil back into oil bottle? Just small things that you may have forgotten.

For god sakes I think Canadian Tire only charges $40 bucks.

tack on syn. oil, and you'd run that price easy. hell.....if i could charge extra to work on cars like his i would....damn filter is a pain in the but on those engines.

when i get oil changes from honda its 45$....so recently i've been doing the oil changes myself..it doesnt take long and its easy.

If it was a different vehicle, Daniel, I know, for a fact, you'd be doing the oil change yourself. Since it's more specialized, you're wise to have it done, even though it costs you.

i changed the oil on my dad's car last week, cost me $ seventy and change. castrol syntec 5w40 and fram filter both from walmart.

Bruno's dad has a vw golf if I remember correctly diesel I believe and pokemonkiller has a is300 or something

i just used to drop the old oil off infront of the service bays at crappy tire after they were closed or they charge you to recycle your old oil...screw that!
