has any one actually gone nd triedlookign up the stats and facts?
the program has actually reduced immessions since it was 1st implemented... and yes it was also a cash grab by the goverment... how esle will they afford every ones healthcare,schooling,"fundign for this funding for that",pogi,law inforcement, transit etc its all comign out of our pockets.. i make 1300 a week end up getting only 8 bills clean...
and now with the **** new "party" thats runnig things its only goign to get worste especially when the minister of the environmentis the ones that onnounced the phasing of the program... and wut she said is tru most cars nowadays wont ever need to be tested...
oh well i dun care my turbo h23 will still be on the street on way or the other

I'm an emission inspector in Richmond Hill so we got the letter about the emission thing.
first it was a cash grab but not from the cost of the test. they get 10 bucks from each test done. the plan was to save money on health care becuase of better air.
also the emission thing is going until 2008 and then it will be up for review. then they will decide to keep or not.
the emission equipment cost our shop about 100,000 and I think we had it payed for last year. we got it when it first started. my shop payed for the course so I didn't pay for anything.
