that car is a sick technological exercise, it's a marvel of automotion. i wouldn't buy one, but i'd hold people who do in high regard.

i'd be more likely to buy a 4th gen civic if it was offered new again. imagine if honda started building 90-91 hatchbacks and sedans again and offered them brand new w/ a D16Y5 or optional D16Y8 ... for like $10-12K. I'd buy it!

Cool idea...NEVER going to happen however...only enthusiasts would buy it, and thats a small market..but I'd buy one (particularly a CRX)

well i dunno, there is that Tata car from India, and all those Chinese cars that will eventually make their way here. why waste the development costs, retool on new machines using the old specs... no wasting money in design. they're lightweight, safe, hella reliable, fuel efficient, and best of all would be CHEAP! you'd be silly not to buy one if all you want is some cheap transport. hell, i get like 40+ mpg highway in an 18 year old civic automatic, sometime in the 50 mpg range hwy with a tail wind. imagine with a 1.6 instead of the 1.5, the engine would last even longer and be able to operate at lower rpm for better fuel economy. the D16Y5 would be standard VTEC-E, and the Y8 would be the slightly peppier version with 'sport' gearing. way better than a GTR

well there is no comparsion with the gtr but what you are essentially talking about is the need to have a smaller and efficient vehicle which is fun to drive at the same time. if u notice, you have all the features u mentioned in the honda fit...now if you dont like the fit...its your personal choice. EFs were great but now they look dated as far as the mass market appeal is concerned.

back to topic....the GTR

YAaaa, big difference there though...

First off, North America is NOT India, the Tata wouldn't even be allowed to be sold here...neither would a an 88-91 Civic.

I agree with all your points, but its NEVER going to happen, and couldn't happen...plus the Fit DOES get 50 MPG (so does the Civic)..

How did you bring this up related to the GTR??which is the furthest thing from this, lol
