2009 Si Rims fit on 2009 DX-G?

Hi guys,

First time poster, and new Honda owner.

Sorry to post this questions as I'm sure its been beaten to death by various people. But can someone confirm if the new '09/10 Si Rims will fit a base model Civic?

I've read many different opinions and some say yes with no problems, others say yes with spacers, some say no.....

Is there anyone who can confirm if the rims will fit with no spacers or issues. I've got a 2009 base Civic and I'm looking to get rid of those nasty wheels. Thanks!!

ex/si are the same. base models are different. he will need spacers or the rims will rub against his calipers.

Oh sorry I didnt realize they were the same.

Her car came stock with 16's on it and mine were 17's so I thought they were different...Also the brakes on my SI are way different than hers....I guess the bigger price tag was just for the K20 Motor

They should fit. The bolt pattern and offset is the same regardless of the actual size of the different model Civic wheels.

But, the older 06-08 Si usually didnt fit on the lower end models without the use of a 3mm spacer on the front wheels only. The problem isnt the caliper, but the bracket that holds the caliper to the hub. The lower end models have this curved bracked that sticks out and makes contact with the Si wheels in some cases. Barely in most cases, but I have seen a few that fit perfect. I looks like the machining on the bracket isnt consistant, so some of them might have a small amount of extra aluminum on the edge.

Anyway...

I had an 06 EX and the Si wheels had for it rubbed this bracket on one side. I used 3mm spacers to free up a little room. The 09-10 Si wheels are basically the same, so I would assume the problem might still happen. Worst case, try one wheel on and spin it to see if it fits. A 3mm spacer will work or simply grinding off a mm or two from the bracket.

Hi folks,

Thanks for all your responses. Much appreciated!

The only problem with the "put it on and see approach" is the dudes on Kijiji won't be cool with me taking their rims and trying them on.

I'll let you know how things turn out.

You dont have to try them all, just one front one. It only takes a few minutes to jack up the car and take a wheel off. Put on new wheels, spin it in neutral and see if it worsk. Buy the seller a coffee or something as a good gesture.

As long as you are serious in my opinion the seller should have a problem. just work it out before you arrive. Don't surprise the seller with it.
