Question Need opinion.

Well planning to buy a car, wanting to buy something cheap and reliable. Would a hatch back be cheaper and just as reliable if not more than a normal 5 speed car? Cause my case is I'm still in university and everything and pretty much paying for everything on my own and working 2 jobs and everything, so don't want to make a mistake, its kind of like a do or die (not quite). Well if I buy the wrong kind of car and needs a lot of maintenance right off the bat then Im screwed because I wouldn't have that kind of extra cash. So just wondering which is more reliable and cheaper, hatch vs car (4 or 2 dr). Also winters coming and all. Also what what average would a reliable and stock condition cost? Well dunno if my question was clear enough but thanks for the opinions in advance and sorry to those who think that is kind of a "noob" question to ask.

Well the amount of doors or body style has no affect on the reliablty of the car, and if its a 10+ year old car it wont really affect the cost to to much either. Also you need to set some kind of budget. If you have already decided on a civic say and you dont care which style it is , your giving yourself a good chance with a wide variety to find a good solid car for a deal. Search autotrader , craigslist , kijiji , and the many many forums. This one being the best for civic related sales. Have some patients and you will find what your looking for.

Oh thanks for the help! But I herd like you can buy a hatch back for cheaper, better condition, lower millage than a civic coupe or sedan.

I'v owned a ton of cars, and the best, most reliable ones I'v had were my civic and delsol, both made by honda. nothing has ever broke on them in the last 3 years.

you can find some good deals on civics in the forsale section. I would say 3g's+ will get you a pretty nice EG (92-95) civic hatch, coupe, or sedan.

just make sure you get what you are looking at buying checked out by a mechanic, or someone that knows cars.

hope I helped a little, if you have anymore questions, feel free to ask man, were all here to help.

the only real difference is a 4 door was less likely to have been beaten on.
not always th ecase i'm sure but it's part of the same reason why a 4 door will cost you less for insurance as well
