Need help... emissions...

k well basicialy i just found out that i have to have my emissions test tomrrow... cause my dads a clown... of course.... anyways i have a catback exhaust... no catalytic converter.....

do you guys think my car will pass the test???

i personaly don't.... but it doesn't hurt to ask..

second ...what happens if i fail the e-test..... cause my sticker expires as of the 22nd..... so can i still get a temp sticker for the licenceplate or what???? do they give you a certain time to fix the problem or do they just say **** you you can't use the car till its fixed???... and does it cost full price again to redo the test???

i really really REALLY appreciate any info anyone has... thanx

Yes, you WILL fail without a cat. Your engine light isn't on??

The vehicle must pass an e-test to allow you to renew the permit sticker on your plates. The ministry does not care if you pass or fail. Only cares that if you pass, you get your sticker. If you don't, you will not get your sticker. You pay 35.47 for the first test and if you fail you are allowed 2 retests at 18 dollars. If you still fail those 2 times, it goes back to 35.47. There is something called a conditional pass. If the repairs needed are above 450 dollars, you receive a conditional pass meaning, it is valid for 2 years but, there after you will need to fix the problem if you want to continue to drive the vehicle 2 years later. But, this is if the cat is faulty. Since you don't have a cat, the inspector will notice this during a pretest evaluation and you will automatically fail the etest even before you start the etest. Hope that helps.

My opinion, find a cat and stick it in.

CHeers,
Buddah.

THat is corect .. resonator is only to muffle sound. I have a full exhaust with a high flow cat and no resonator, and I was A OK... just do a tuneup, change your oil, and take her for a highway climb before you take the test.. that should help a good deal.
