Ppl make up the stupidest ****, don't believe everything you read. Si was introduced when Multi-Port Fuel Injection was added in 1988 to the Si model, but that doesn't mean the Si stands for Sport Injection. Why is our 'teg dubbed GS-R - is that "Grand Sport Racing" 
LOL I've read the same thing, but Honda has officially stated that the trim level designations don't mean squat other than to invoke a sense of hiearchy and in some cases to revive old heritage (like the 1500 S and currently the Type S lineup).

and here's a link and check out the abbriviation at the end of the page. it looks like this SI = Sport Injected (Honda)
