high end rentals....what do you think??
#21
Nevermind what a high-end rental will cost, as most rental places such as Hertz will charge an arm and a leg for their week long rental. No lie, my wife and I rented a full size, top of the line Ford Escape over Christmas and drove 900 kms on it and drop it off at another city (a fee was involved). Total cost for the intire week with only 200 kms/day was over $1300. They charge $90/day + $35 ins./day + $250 drop off fee + tax = $1305. The frickin SUV makes more in a week than I do. But no worries, wife's company pays for it.

Definitely research the viability of the business, I would think it would be tough to deal with an established business like GTA Exotics, which has a full line of up-market rentals.
However that being said, if you can make it work with the unlimited kilometres you spoke of, then that would be a strong point to differentiate yourself from GTA Exotics because they have a very low amount of free kilometres (around 150 I think), after that it gets expensive. Maintenance is an issue though, if you have unlimited kilometres some cars could be in for maintenance very often.
Also, the Range, H2, etc. would probaly get interest but a TSX or CTS has you at the same level as the big rental chains, they even have the DTS at Discount. If you try to compete with the big chains then I don't see it working out.
