Help: Si cluster in cx? 2000 ek

hey guys...

i have a 2000 civic cx, this retarded thing doesnt come with a tacho...
i dont mind driving it without the rpm..its not so hard...but the last time my engine kept reving while on idle..thats wen i thoght maybe i need a tacho to see how high the engine is reving.

so today I went out and got a 2000 civic si cluster...my question is...

the back of the cluster has 3 slots to plug in all the wires...but im not sure if my CX has 3 wires to the cluster...how will i hook up the tacho sensor to the new cluster...

since my CX did not have a tacho, would it still have the sensor in the dash?
or would i have to do some crazy stuff to get the tacho to work on the new cluster?

Its just a straight plug in. I sold my 96 si cluster to someone on here a while back and he just hooked it up in the parking lot and drove away with it.

k. i finally got down to business and worked on ma car a bit...had the time to work on the cluster...just as you said..it was a piece of cake...3 wires and they all connected the same way...i was able to add a tachometer in my CX now that i swapped the clusters

nice. its certainly better than throwing a 5" tach on your dash.

yeah...it does look much cleaner...
I dont get why Honda would not include a tacho to begin with, especially in a standard car lol
meh...i dont reallly care though but yea the SI cluster makes it more neater than having a big *** gauge screwed to the dash
