Unhappy Help me please!! Head Gasket blew

Man this sucks! Yesterday I was drivin and my car starts idleing like a diesel. Next I notice the temperature shooting up fast and my exhaust has thick white/gray smoke comming out if it and it has a sweet smell. So i'm like aw Fawk. So I pull over and add more collant to the rad (it was pretty much empty). As soon as it gets back to normal operating temp it starts running like **** again and within an hour it's overheating again. I have therefore come to the conclusion that the head gasket is shot.

I don't think it's worth paying $400-500 to have the gasket replaced when the engine probably needs a new timing belt and water pump to. And the tranny is starting to go.

I don't have much money, I was hoping this engine would last a 5 or 6 months until when I'm done school and have enough money for a real engine.

Anyone know where I could get a D15B7 engine and tranny for cheap and get it installed for a decent price? Please help! I need my car to get back and forth from school.

Thanks!

RT Motorsport - 905 669 8444 ask for Rick, they've got d-series motors scattered all over the place.

Thanks Jugglez,
Ya I figured there should be lots of d-series motors around somewhere.
I'll give RT Motorsport a call.

Dude that sucks!
I know how ya feel!
If you wanna try out the real ghetto thing you could try torqueing down the bolts and stuff(I dont know what else its called) but I don't know how long it'll last!

You may be able to last a lil longer as long as the oil and coolant aren't mixing in (like mine)
I'd say you should check for a busted hose(like mine) or hole in your rad.
Are you burning oil?(like mine?)

Damn my engine sucks! No wonder it died!

Thanks SilverCRXSi,

I was thinking about torqueing down the bolts. but would I have to tear apart the engine in order to get at the bolts? Or can I get at them just be removing the valve cover?

I'm not burning oil yet, I don't think and I'm not sure if the oil and coolant are mixing. There are no external coolant leaks its all getting burned up inside the engine.

I drove it to school today and it made it so hopefully it will last until I can get a new engine put in

LOL, it sounds like your engine is in pretty bad shape!

I'm definitly going to give RT Motorsport a call on Monday.

Much Appreciated KS-R!

How much would you charge for a D15B7 w tranny and installation?
How about for a D16Z6?

Please PM me if you don't want to post it

Thanks!

its usually only dohc head bolts that are a pta to get to, for an sohc motor they should all be easily accessible after just popping the valve cover off

goodluck
