Get your '04 Si and Insight now - MY04 production ends soon

We've received confirmation that the '04 Civic Si and Insight models are wrapping up their run for the model year. The factories will stop accepting orders after the March allocation and final deliveries for '04 models of both vehicles are scheduled for May of '04.

What does this mean? Well, while we'd like to think they're clearing the way for a Type R model, it's probably more of a reflection of the Si's slow selling rate. It is not uncommon for low production models (such as the Insight and Si) to have early "build outs" so as to minimize year-end inventory. NOTE: This information does not mean that the cars won't be back in '05 - this only pertains to MY04 cars.

Another item of interest for fans of the Si is that dealers have been told that the next generation (due in MY06) Civic Si will be offered in a 2-door (coupe) body style once again, with "improved peformance".

NOTE: There seems to be a little confusion about this news item. We are only reporting that production for '04 model Civic Si's and '04 Insights is ending soon. This does not mean that production of the Si and Insight is being ended, just production for MY04 cars.

I say hatch as well. Maybe the coupes will have the old SiR k20 (?) motor in em.

the 5th gen started off nice and light and got heavier when more safest was mandated....

They 5th gen Si hatch was around for 92-93

94-95 the Si was only available in a coupe

I say hatch only if it looked nice like EK's...otherwise the new coupes look way better

one more note: i kinda gave up on civics...as in cool stock from the factory civics...the reason is because its the #1 selling car in canada and maybe even north america as it is and i really dont think they care what us enthusiats want anymore

i also say hatch but it has to be greatly improved especially weight wise the current one is just to heavy ( and give it a nicer shape too while their at it)

they need to re-introduce an entry level car... the Civic is now what the Accord was in the mid 80s. cars grow up too, we need a new baby in the family

Honda should bring out the "Fit" (or is it Jazz) over here.
They need something to compete with the Echo and Accent.

Or bring over the CTR and sell all Civic for like 2k less (ya right)
